An independent fact-checking publication with country editions and one standard for all of them.
What we do
We take one public claim at a time, examine the evidence, and publish a verdict. Each claim gets its own permanent page that keeps the sources, the speaker's reply, and a dated list of updates.
Our principles
- We check claims from all sides by the same standard.
- We show our sources so readers can judge the evidence themselves.
- We give every speaker the right of reply before we publish.
- We correct our mistakes in public.
Checked elsewhere
Next to our own work we list checks published by other fact-checking organisations, so you can see in one place what has been checked about a person or a claim. Those checks are theirs, not ours. Each one names the organisation, shows its rating in its own words and links to its article. See where they come from.
Editions
We publish a Global edition and an edition for every country. See all 199 countries.
