“Ivermectin is an effective treatment for COVID-19.”
PolitiFact says: Researchers see no conclusive evidence that ivermectin is an effective COVID-19 treatment. It is not approved for COVID-19 prevention or treatment by the FDA, which recommends not to use it for COVID-19.
“¿Los senos aumentan de tamaño luego de ponerte la vacuna contra el covid-19?”
“Suggests a suspicious link between the COVID-19 delta variant and company named Delta that works in 5G.”
PolitiFact says: The connection is simply that one of the variants is called delta and the company’s name is Delta. There is no connection between the coronavirus and the fifth-generation upgrade to wireless systems.
“The CDC is creating camps for individuals at high-risk of complications from COVID-19.”
“The COVID-19 vaccines “fight the virus wrong and let the virus become worse than it would with native infection.”
FactCheck.org says: Antibody-dependent enhancement of disease, or ADE, hasn’t been an issue in the animal studies and clinical trials for the COVID-19 vaccines — not to mention their real-world rollout.
“They want to repeal a protection in Medicare that protects access to my medicines. They call it negotiation, but it really means the government decides what medicines I can get.”
Washington Post says: The ad describes a worst-case scenario, not the proposed legislation
“Despite bipartisan support for consumer incentives, [the Trump administration] also let the federal tax credit expire, penalizing autoworkers who were, at the time, selling the most electric vehicles in the world — in the United States.”
FactCheck.org says: Models made by Tesla and General Motors are no longer eligible, but dozens of electric cars and trucks still qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500 for buyers purchasing new plug-in electric vehicles.
“I will need to show proof to do anything indoors in” New York City, “but not when I vote?”
PolitiFact says: The city is requiring proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination for certain indoor venues.
“Publicaciones en Instagram sugieren que Bill Gates y George Soros usarán pruebas de COVID-19 para vacunar secretamente a personas que aún no han recibido las inyecciones.”
FactCheck.org says: No hay evidencia que sostenga esta teoría de la conspiración y los científicos dicen que tratar de administrar una vacuna con un hisopo nasal probablemente no sea efectivo.
“Says there are fewer than 2,000 confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations in the U.S.”
PolitiFact says: A chart from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is presented without its disclaimer — that the hospitalization data are for 14 states, not the entire U.S. Nationally, COVID-19 hospitalizations are rising.
“The Vaccine Adverse Event Recording System shows that 5,946 people have died because of the” COVID-19 vaccine.”
PolitiFact says: The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System accepts unverified reports of possible side effects from taking vaccines. No evidence has established that a COVID-19 vaccine caused any deaths.
“Unvaccinated people “are making the vaccinated people sick and die, but the unvaccinated people are not dead or sick.”
PolitiFact says: Officials say COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths are occurring overwhelmingly among the unvaccinated. Rarely, vaccinated people are hospitalized or die after becoming infected, but it’s not known who infected them.
“CDC study shows 74% of people infected in MA Covid outbreak were fully vaccinated debunking the ‘pandemic of the unvaccinated’ narrative.”
FactCheck.org says: As vaccination rates increase, it’s entirely expected for a larger and larger proportion of people who are infected to be vaccinated. It doesn’t mean the vaccines don’t work.
“Las personas cada vez confían menos en poder evitar el COVID-19 ¿Protege la vacuna contra la variante delta del COVID-19?”
Noticias Telemundo says: Las vacunas son efectivas y las infecciones entre personas vacunadas “ocurren solo en un pequeño porcentaje” de casos.
“No elected official is doing more to enable the transmission of COVID in America than Joe Biden with his open borders policies.”
Washington Post says: There is little evidence to support this claim. Undocumented immigrants found to be covid-positive are quarantined until they are well.
“Says Joe Biden has driven the current coronavirus surge because he “imported more virus from around the world by having a wide open southern border.”
PolitiFact says: Illegal immigration may be a contributing factor to the coronavirus’ spread, but the available evidence suggests another explanation: low vaccination rates.
“Says spending by Democrats is driving major jumps in car rentals, gas prices and hotel prices this summer”
“Sweden had few COVID deaths in July, despite low vaccination rates, relaxed lockdown rules and low mask compliance.”
PolitiFact says: Sweden went light on restrictions. It recorded a small number of COVID-19 deaths in July 2021. Its death rate is more than twice as high as it was 10 months earlier and is higher than its neighbors'. Infections are up.
“The CEO of Pfizer had to cancel a planned trip to Israel because he was not fully vaccinated. Let me repeat: BECAUSE HE WAS NOT VACCINATED.”
FactCheck.org says: The CEO of Pfizer posted a photo of himself getting the second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine on March 10. But an Aug. 5 tweet from Newsmax reporter Emerald Robinson misleadingly suggested he isn’t vaccinated.
