“She [Russian billionaire Elena Baturina] gave him [Hunter Biden] $3.5 million so now I would think [Russian president Vladimir] Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it. I think we should know that answer.”
Washington Post says: Biden's business partner Devon Archer transferred the funds.
“Donald Trump's appeasement of Putin wasn't just a personal act of treason, it's the Republican Party's official position.”
PolitiFact says: Donald Trump’s actions regarding Ukraine did not rise to the level of treason, which is defined in the Constitution. The GOP platform does not amount to an official policy of appeasing Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Hillary Clinton spied on President Trump.”
PolitiFact says: An ad from a PAC affiliated with Donald Trump mischaracterizes a special counsel’s court filing. The filing does not allege that Hillary Clinton spied on Trump.
“If you look pre-COVID" under President Donald Trump, "we didn't import a single barrel of oil from Saudi Arabia.”
“An old tweet from Joe Biden shows he's a "hypocrite" for criticizing former President Donald Trump for issuing the "same [pandemic-related] travel ban.”
FactCheck.org says: Social media posts claim President Joe Biden was critical of pandemic travel restrictions imposed by former President Donald Trump. But that his remark was about an immigration order directed at largely Muslim countries.
“Very sad that the RINOs [Republicans in name only] in the House and Senate gave Biden and Democrats a victory on the ‘Non-Infrastructure’ Bill, where only 11% of the money being wasted goes to real infrastructure.”
Washington Post says: Almost 40 percent of the bill would qualify as infrastructure under the standards used by Trump during his presidency.
“Former President Donald Trump said, “Do Not Be Distracted By All This Going On In Afghanistan. Always Keep One Eye On Washington D.C. A Magician Always Distracts His Audience.”
“Former President Donald Trump “was blocked from getting troops out of (Afghanistan) by Liz Cheney and others.”
PolitiFact says: An amendment backed by Cheney received bipartisan support and became law. It allowed troop reductions to proceed as long as reports were submitted confirming national security wasn't harmed.
“Denzel Washington said he’s “had it” with the Democratic Party’s “lies” and now supports former President Donald Trump.”
FactCheck.org says: The fictitious quote attributed to Washington originated on a self-described satirical website.
“Says Donald Trump signed the Insurrection Act and “still is president.”
PolitiFact says: There’s no evidence that Trump invoked the law during his final days in office. He is not president anymore.
“Human trafficking and drugs” at the Mexico border have “doubled, tripled and quadrupled” since Joe Biden became president.”
PolitiFact says: Experts say it takes time after someone enters the U.S. for them to be subjected to sex or labor trafficking, and there aren’t statistics yet for Biden’s presidency. The number of drug seizure events is up 11%.
“New York state “can and should rename the park” currently named for former President Donald Trump.”
PolitiFact says: When Trump donated the land for the park in 2006, his lawyers sent the Parks Department a letter with instructions on naming it after him. Whether this constitutes a binding agreement is now in dispute.
“Says a photo at CPAC shows evangelical leaders praying over a golden statue of former President Donald Trump.”
PolitiFact says: The image is altered. The real photograph is from January 2020 and shows faith leaders praying with then-President Donald Trump, not the statue.
“The letter former President Donald Trump left for President Joe Biden said: "Joe, you know I won.”
FactCheck.org says: A fake letter purported to be the one left by former President Donald Trump for President Joe Biden has been circulating online, but it's written on a letterhead template that's been used to satirize Trump before.
“I am especially proud to be the first President in decades who has started no new wars.”
“President Donald Trump “can’t say anything (about the U.S. Capitol riot) because the platforms have removed him.”
“I immediately deployed the National Guard and federal law enforcement to secure the building and expel the intruders.”
FactCheck.org says: Trump’s claim that he acted quickly is contradicted by news reports citing unnamed sources who say the president initially resisted efforts to bring in the National Guard at the outset of the Capitol riot.
“Impeaching President Donald Trump means he "loses his 200K+ pension," "his 1 million dollar/year travel allowance," his "lifetime full secret service detail" and "his ability to run in 2024.”
“All Vice President Pence has to do is send it back to the state and recertify, and we become president.”
PolitiFact says: Legal scholars across the political spectrum find nothing in the Constitution nor in legislation that gives Pence this power. The vice president opens state results and reads the final tally.
