“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ government-run health care plan… could lead to hospitals being closed, put Medicare coverage at risk, and give benefits to illegal immigrants.”
PolitiFact says: Joe Biden’s health care plan includes an option for people to buy into government managed health care, but that would not be the only option.
“Doctors inflate the number of COVID deaths because they get paid more for COVID patients.”
PolitiFact says: Hospitals might get paid more for Medicare COVID patients, but their doctors don't. And there's no evidence that the death count is over reported.
“Thanks to our relentless efforts, 97% of all current emergency rooms visits are for something other than" the coronavirus.”
FactCheck.org says: Trump could have boasted of similar percentages -- 93% to 96% -- during the worst periods of the pandemic.
“The number of coronavirus deaths is “almost nothing.”
“U.S. is “really not doing (COVID-19) reporting right” because deaths are being improperly counted and hospitals have an “incentive” to pad stats.”
PolitiFact says: Decisions on how to classify a given death are made by local doctors or coroners, but based on World Health Organization guidelines followed by the U.S. and nearly every other country.
“Foxconn hasn't hit job targets on its massive Wisconsin factory because "No. 1, you had a pandemic.”
PolitiFact says: Foxconn’s hiring and infrastructure improvements dramatically lagged their promises long before the pandemic hit.
“We are rounding the turn (on coronavirus). We are rounding the corner.”
PolitiFact says: “Rounding the corner” would imply significant, sustained reductions in the spread of the virus. In reality, sases have been rising steadily since mid-September, and hospitalizations and test positivity rates are up too.
“CNN reported, “Due to COVID-19, President Donald Trump passes away at 74.”
“Think of it, as we’re rounding the turn and we are, they go crazy when I say we’re rounding the turn on the pandemic.”
FactCheck.org says: That’s at odds with the available data showing an increase in COVID-19 cases and with expert assessments of the situation.
“Hunter Biden was chairman of the World Food Program, which just won the Nobel Peace Prize. Eric Trump, Donald J Trump Jr, Ivanka Trump are banned from ever operating a charity again because they stole donations to children with cancer.”
PolitiFact says: World Food Program USA, whose board Hunter Biden previously served on as chairman, did not win the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize. And the Trump children are not barred from operating charities.
“Under eight years of the previous administration, premiums for Medicare health plans went up. ... Under my administration, we’ve lowered Medicare Advantage premiums by a number nobody even believes — 34% nationwide.”
FactCheck.org says: Most Medicare enrollees don't pay Medicare Advantage premiums, which went up by 46 cents under the Obama administration for the national monthly average. Part B premiums went up under both administrations.
“Speaking of the federal debt before the coronavirus pandemic, “we were starting to get that number down.”
PolitiFact says: Public debt has gone up during Trump’s presidency. There is no point at which it declined. Debt as a percentage of the overall economy has also increased throughout Trump’s administration.
“But just the other day they came out with a statement that 85% of the people that wear masks catch" the coronavirus.”
FactCheck.org says: The CDC released a tweet directly contradicting the president’s claim, saying, “the interpretation that more mask-wearers are getting infected compared to non-mask wearers is incorrect.”
“Changes to DACA during his administration are "because of the pandemic.”
PolitiFact says: Trump’s administration began making changes to DACA in 2017, during his first year in office.
“So in the old days they said, 'Well, if you have [COVID-19], you’re immune for life,' right? Once I got it, they give you four months. ... It’s anybody else but me, you’re immune for life.”
FactCheck.org says: Experts, however, haven’t changed their estimates for immunity duration, which remains unknown -- but unlikely to be lifelong.
“The World Health Organization just admitted that I was right" about lockdowns to control COVID-19.”
FactCheck.org says: The WHO didn't say Trump was right and has not changed its position on lockdowns. The WHO has never recommended lockdowns as the primary strategy to control the virus but recognizes that in some cases they may be needed.
“A Trump campaign ad that praises the president's handling of the pandemic quotes Dr. Anthony Fauci saying, "I can't imagine that ... anybody could be doing more.”
FactCheck.org says: Fauci was referring to the efforts of federal public health officials, not specifically to Trump. Even though they are members of the Trump administration, that is not the same thing as praising Trump's response.
“Doctors at Walter Reed Hospital were trying to kill President Donald Trump for the "deep state”
“Says Dr. Anthony Fauci said of Trump’s pandemic response, “I can’t imagine that … anybody could be doing more.”
PolitiFact says: The full context of the quote shows that Fauci was talking about the White House coronavirus task force and the mobilization of the federal government more generally.
