5 checks for “Republican National Committee”
“Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman wants to “eliminate life sentences for murderers.”
FactCheck.org says: Fetterman has said he wants to eliminate mandatory life sentences for second-degree murder. He’s not talking about all murders, and he’s not seeking to eliminate the discretion for judges to impose life sentences.
“Sen. Raphael Warnock “voted for welfare for politicians plan. Up to $25 million of government money for Warnock’s own political campaign.”
PolitiFact says: The voluntary matching program would not start until 2028 and would be paid for out of surcharges on court cases and settlements.
“Says Raphael Warnock supports boycotts of Georgia to protest voting law.”
PolitiFact says: The ad omits Warnock’s full statements about whether businesses should boycott the state.
“Says Joe Biden said voting by mail is a way to “fundamentally change this country,” contradicting past statements by Barack Obama and Debbie Wasserman Schultz.”
PolitiFact says: The video includes short clips of Barack Obama and Debbie Wasserman Schultz sounding critical of voting by mail, but that was in the narrow context of a proposal to re-do a presidential primary in Florida in 08.
