What PolitiFact found

The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced an 818,000-job downward revision as part of a standard, annual review process in 2024. The agency didn’t keep this secret until after the November election. It released the data on Aug. 21, 2024 — on the eve of Kamala Harris’ nomination at the Democratic National Convention, and long before any American had cast a ballot. Trump complained about the revision the day it was released.
