“President Joe Biden “cheated on his taxes and got away with it.”
PolitiFact says: Some experts consider the tactic to be an "aggressive" way to legally avoid taxes. But experts agreed it would not be characterized as "cheating," much less illegal.
“The 87,000 new IRS agents who were supposed to “only target the rich” are now “coming after waitresses’ tips.”
PolitiFact says: Tips are already subject to federal income taxes. The IRS is proposing a new service industry tip reporting program that would replace three existing voluntary tip compliance agreements.
“The government caused a fire at Hillandale Farms in Connecticut “so that they can force us into eating their fake GMO meats, or starve us into compliance.”
“There are no humans” on the International Space Station.”
“Video shows people collapsing because of COVID-19 vaccines.”
“An ingredient in some of Chick-fil-A’s dipping sauces can cause serious health problems.”
PolitiFact says: Some of Chick-fil-A’s dipping sauces contain a small amount of a common food additive called calcium disodium ethylene-diaminetetraacetate, or EDTA. The FDA says it is safe to consume in small quantities.
“Backyard chicken flocks have stopped laying eggs, and the feed is responsible.”
PolitiFact says: There's no evidence chicken feed is being sabotaged or impacting the number of eggs hens are laying, poultry experts said. Several feed suppliers, including Tractor Supply Co., say they haven't changed their formulas.
“In the past two years, democracies have become stronger, not weaker. Autocracies have grown weaker, not stronger.”
PolitiFact says: This lacks evidence and recent research suggests that global democracy has been on the decline for the past several years.
“In Wisconsin, even multimillionaires can be on BadgerCare "because we don't even ask people what their income level is to qualify for free healthcare.”
“Pfizer just got caught doing gain of function to mutate covid intentionally for vaccines.”
PolitiFact says: Pfizer denied doing gain-of-function research while developing its COVID-19 vaccine, and an expert told PolitiFact he agreed with Pfizer’s assessment.
“Photo showing Game of Thrones characters depicts victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.”
PolitiFact says: The photo featured two well-known characters from the show "Game of Thrones," not victims of the earthquake. Commenters recognized the image and called on the account to take down the post.
“This 'earthquake' is a systemic attack against Kurdish people.”
PolitiFact says: A social media post falsely claimed that the 7.8-magnitude temblor in Syria and Turkey was not an earthquake, but an attack on Kurdish people. The post was later taken down.
“Former President Donald Trump created a Justice Department task force to combat Chinese espionage in the country, and President Joe Biden shut it down.”
PolitiFact says: An expert says detection, tracking and operations against the Chinese spy balloon are handled primarily by the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the U.S. Northern Command, not by the Justice Department.
“In the last two years, my administration cut the deficit by more than $1.7 trillion.”
PolitiFact says: The debt rose in 2021 because of a temporary phase of unusual federal spending due to the coronavirus pandemic. In absolute dollars, the current deficit is much more in line with what it was in pre-pandemic 2019.
“Joe Biden closed schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
PolitiFact says: Schools closed in March 2020 while Donald Trump was president under the orders of state officials or governors. In 2021, local officials or governors made the school reopening decisions -- not Biden.
“Unusual cancers” are “exploding right into stage 4" and those cancer cells have “the spike protein.”
PolitiFact says: Fact-checkers have repeatedly debunked the claim that COVID-19 vaccines cause cancer.
“We created more new jobs in two years than any president did in their entire term.”
PolitiFact says: While Biden has easily outpaced every post-war president in job gains per year, he benefited from taking office on the upswing of a deep recession. He also hasn’t faced a recession yet, unlike most of his predecessors.
“During my time in office, we've increased per pupil aid by more than $300 per student. Now, our schools have returned to the top 10 in the country after falling to 17 under the previous administration.”
“‘Satellites’ are on balloons and not in space.”
PolitiFact says: High-altitude surveillance balloons are not the same as satellites, which are launched into space by rockets. Satellites also orbit at much higher altitudes than balloon-powered devices.
