PolitiFact says: U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s function should be reexamined but she didn't say that the federal government should get rid of immigration enforcement entirely.

PolitiFact says: In 2020, then-Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., called for "reimagining" public safety. But she didn’t explicitly call for shuttering police departments.
“Vice President Kamala Harris is “calling for an end to the child tax credit.”
PolitiFact says: Vice President Kamala Harris has repeatedly expressed support for expanding the child tax credit, not ending it.
“Video shows “several masked men stormed a local voting station and stole the ballot boxes” in Venezuela’s 2024 election.”
PolitiFact says: A viral social media video claiming to show men stealing ballot boxes is wrong. The men are carrying air conditioning window units, not boxes of ballots.
“100 million ballots (Democrats) prefilled now have the wrong name.”
PolitiFact says: There are no official ballots for the general election yet. The 2024 Democratic presidential nominee will be determined in a virtual nominating process ahead of the Democratic National Convention in August.
“Thomas Matthew Crooks worked for BlackRock "in the past" and BlackRock owned the building Crooks stood on when he shot at the Trump campaign rally.”
PolitiFact says: Crooks appeared briefly in a 2022 ad for BlackRock but was not paid. American Glass Research Inc. owns the building from which Crooks fired shots on the campaign rally for former President Donald Trump.
“ABC News reporter said “government tried to kill” former President Donald Trump.”
PolitiFact says: ABC News Chief Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas did not say the "government tried to kill former President Trump," as shortened social media videos claim.

PolitiFact says: A video shared on X doesn’t show first lady Jill Biden in Washington, D.C., and Paris at the same time. Biden was at the White House for President Joe Biden's primetime speech, then took a late-night plane to Paris.
“Financial advisory company Austin Private Wealth shorted 12 million shares of Trump Media July 12, the day before former President Donald Trump’s attempted assassination.”
PolitiFact says: Austin Private Wealth, an investment adviser, said the amount of shorted Trump Media shares reported in its July 12 filing was incorrect. The accurate holding amount was 1,200 shares, not 12 million.
“When asked if her plan would outlaw private health insurance for 180 million Americans, (Harris) replied, ‘Let's just eliminate all of it.’”
PolitiFact says: She said it, ut Trump’s version of Harris’ comment ignores that the statement, "Let's eliminate all of that," referred to delays and paperwork from waiting for insurance company approval for treatments.
“Former President Jimmy Carter “passed away Tuesday, July 23, at 01:34 am at his home in Plains, Georgia at the age of 99.”
PolitiFact says: The death announcement included satirical claims about former President Jimmy Carter’s time in office and lewd references to former first ladies. The Carter Center told PolitiFact the letter is fake.
“The death of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, six days after the Trump rally shooting was linked to her “oversight of the Secret Service.”
PolitiFact says: After announcing a cancer diagnosis in June, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, died July 19. We searched using Google and Nexis and found no reliable reports linking Jackson Lee’s death to Secret Service oversight.
“Photo shows Trump shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks was transgender”
PolitiFact says: There is no evidence this is an image of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. The picture shows a transgender woman identified as Rose.
