What Vera Files found

The Human Rights Violations Victims’ Memorial Commission has documented 11,103 Filipinos who suffered abuse under the Marcos regime and eligible to receive compensations from the P10- billion fund from the Marcos Swiss accounts. In 1995, some 10,000 of these victims of human rights won a class-action lawsuit in Hawaii where a jury found the late dictator guilty of the “torture, murder and disappearances of fellow Filipinos.”
