Both the House and Senate versions of his "Big Beautiful Bill" would cut taxes for many Social Security beneficiaries, but they would not eliminate Social Security taxation altogether. A representative from the Joint Committee on Taxation, the bipartisan body of Congress that analyzes proposed tax legislation, said 24 million Americans would still pay some amount of tax on their Social Security benefits.
