“The University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman is the only campus that has a private army.”
What Vera Files found
Among UP’s eight constituent universities, only two — UP Diliman and UP Los Baños — have their own university police forces, which currently operate under the supervision of their respective Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs (OVCCA). The police forces are not private armies. The UP Board of Regents (BOR) created the University Police Force under the supervision of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) in lieu of the UP Security Division that was abolished in 1977.
