While this video does show Mars’ actual surface, it was not recent footage from the newly landed Perseverance rover. Instead, the video is a recording of a panorama image taken by the Curiosity rover years earlier. The video also does not feature the first recorded sounds of Mars, since those audio filings were not released until after the YouTube video was posted.
