“Government officials “could have come and taken” classified documents stored at Donald Trump’s private club and residence in Florida “any time they wanted.”

FactCheck.org rated this: False

PolitiFact rated this: Mostly False

FactCheck.org rated this: False

FactCheck.org says: Former President Donald Trump’s supporters gathered outside his home protesting an FBI search, triggering a satirical tweet falsely attributed to Trump’s son telling them to disperse, saying, “We… need to keep it clean.”

Donald Trump, former president

“What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat(ic) National Committee? Here, in reverse, Democrats broke into the home of the 45th President of the United States.”

PolitiFact rated this: One was legal, one wasn't

PolitiFact says: The Watergate was illegal, while the search of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home would have received formal approval from a federal judge.
