5 checks for “Nancy Pelosi”
“When unemployment goes down, inflation goes up.”
PolitiFact says: Pelosi’s comment is outdated. There is still an element of truth to this theory, but several decades of real-world experience has shown that the relationship between unemployment and inflation is not all that precise.
“Say that according to the Los Angeles Times, “95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens,” more than two-thirds of all births in Los Angeles County “are to illegal alien Mexicans” on Medicaid, “nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal,” and Nancy Pelosi “wants to put a windfall tax” on retirement fund profits.”
PolitiFact says: The assertions in this post not only range from unsupported to incorrect, but they have been circulating consistently for almost a decade and a half despite repeated debunkings by fact-checkers as well as the L.A. Times.
“Even President Trump’s own EPA has admitted that this rule (on air pollutants) threatens to cause serious health problems including brain damage and death and to inflict billions of dollars of economic damage on our struggling economy.”
PolitiFact says: An EPA science advisory board raised issues with the EPA’s approach and recommended doing a new assessment, but that recommendation wasn’t binding.
“Says Nancy Pelosi tweeted that she was disgusted with Donald Trump over taxes.”
PolitiFact says: An image appears to show a tweet issued by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. It’s fake, posted by a now-defunct fake-tweet generator.
