The accused in the video is Nitesh Gond, a resident of Beldhana in Deori, Sagar district, who belongs to the Scheduled Tribe (Gond community), not a Muslim named Shahil. His identity was confirmed by media reports and Deori Police, which also stated that preventive action was taken against him under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as the victims did not file a complaint.
