“The video shows dead bodies of children and a woman killed by thieves in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, after finding nothing to steal.”
What FACTLY found
The video is not from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. It shows a 2024 incident from Muzaffargarh district in Punjab, Pakistan, where a man named Sajjad killed his wife and seven children. Pakistani media reported that he was under extreme financial stress and committed the murders because he could not afford to feed his family. The Uttar Pradesh Police confirmed the video is from Pakistan and arrested three people for circulating it to incite communal tension.
