“The video shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi presenting his own portrait to Chinese President Xi Jinping during the BRICS Summit.”
What FACTLY found
The video does not show Prime Minister Narendra Modi presenting his portrait to Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 2026 BRICS Summit. The visuals are from the 2019 second informal summit between PM Modi and President Xi in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu. During the gift exchange, Modi gifted Xi a handmade silk shawl, while Xi gifted Modi a porcelain memento featuring Modi’s portrait.
