“It's very misleading when (President Biden) says (inflation) used to be at 9%. This is compounding. It’s not like it went down from 9% to 3%. This is building month after month. The better way to think about it is that it’s 18%, 19% over the last three years.”

PolitiFact rated this: Half True

PolitiFact says: Inflation compounds and it has risen by about 19% over the last three years. However, Rubio leaves out that wages have increased faster than prices since the pandemic, and also over the past year.

“Face masks being manufactured in China, for example, went to domestic consumption and their own fight against the virus” while the U.S. was “largely unable to import supplies from China.”

PolitiFact rated this: Mostly False

PolitiFact says: China did have a greater need for its domestically manufactured masks in February as the virus ravaged the country, but Rubio greatly overstates the situation. Imports dropped, but they did continue.
